An STI test (also called an STD test) is one of the most important things you can do to protect your health. Many STIs, or sexually transmitted infections, don't have any symptoms, so early diagnosis and treatment are vital.
With Scrubs, it’s quick, easy, and confidential, with self-order testing, delivered on your terms. Get tested in the privacy of your home or at any discreet location in the Calgary area. Results typically available within 2 to 3 days.
STI test panels
All tests include a free virtual consultation to review abnormal results. A prescription will be provided if you need one.
Basic STI Panel
Checks for the three most common STIs: Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Trichomoniasis with a simple urine test.
Comprehensive STI Panel
Checks for the most common bacterial and viral infections: Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trichomoniasis, Syphilis, HIV and Hepatitis.
Many sexually transmitted infections don't have any symptoms, so it’s best to get checked if you are worried you’ve been exposed. But definitely get tested if you are experiencing any of the following:
Painful urination
Pain during sexual intercourse
Rash on the genitals and/or anus
Itching or irritation on the genitals and/or anus
Unusual lumps or bumps around genitals and/or anus
Abnormal discharge (smell, color, consistency, volume)
Strong vaginal odor
Painful erections

Confidential testing
There is a lot of stigma around STI testing. Many people share a family doctor with loved ones, or just worry about others seeing their test in the public health database. Totally understandable.
That’s why Scrubs offers a unique private testing option at checkout. It costs extra, but for many, the extra layer of privacy is worth it.
How it works
At checkout, select the option to test without providing your personal health number. The extra charge ($98 to $238, depending on the test panel) covers additional lab fees.
It’s important to note that we still need to verify your identity with a second form of identification, and if you test positive for HIV, hepatitis or syphilis, the law requires your clinician to report it to public health.

HIV Prevention
Our practitioners can also prescribe PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), a pill you take once a day that reduces your risk of acquiring HIV by up to 99%. See our Sexual Health treatment page for more information.
Insurance Coverage
Did you know our services are typically eligible for reimbursement under Health Spending Accounts? Certain services may also be eligible under other employee benefit and Blue Cross plans. Geographic Coverage
Scrubs provides mobile services in Calgary and area. Extra distance charges apply for services to outlying communities, such as Okotoks, Cochrane, Canmore and Banff. We also provide medical consults throughout Alberta. Need a prescription to treat an infection? We provide free same-day delivery to your doorstep, anywhere in Calgary.
