Health Care Made Easy

We’ve all seen the headlines: Canada’s health system is in crisis. Health care workers are burned out. Six million Canadians don’t have a family doctor and more than a third of them have been searching for more over a year. Lab wait times have stretched to weeks for appointments and hours for last minute walk ups.

Despite pouring billions of dollars into the health system, our governments have struggled to meet the needs of care seekers. But the need is massive and growing, so many Canadians are turning to solutions from the private sector.

Meeting this challenge is one of the reasons Scrubs was created. The company has an innovative service delivery model that includes virtual care, same-day mobile lab work, access to specialized testing and prescription delivery through our pharmacy partner. Scrubs is also putting the power to manage health concerns in the hands of patients, going so far as to allow people to book certain kinds of services—like sexual health tests—without first seeing a doctor.

The Scrubs founders started putting these ideas into practice in Calgary during the Covid-19 pandemic (under a different brand) and patients loved the convenience and simplicity of a medical service designed around them. Along the way, the we are building a booking system and practitioner portal that makes the health care journey less stressful for care seekers and care providers.
